“Late Start, Late End” speaks to a cycle of long days; of waking up tired, trying to conjure momentum in spite of feeling behind, and then doing it all again the next day.
“Late Start, Late End” was written for flute player Anjali Shinde. It was premiered on October 25, 2020 at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music
Instrumentation: Electric Guitar and Percussion
“Salt Heals, Salt Takes Away” was written as an homage to driving through Los Angeles at night, particularly along the coast stretching up to Ventura; the bleary, headlight-littered darkness of the highway, the silhouettes of homes built along the Pacific, balanced on spindly piers and perpetually being corroded by the ocean’s salt.
“Salt Heals, Salt Takes Away” was commissioned by party of one (Liz Faure, guitar and Jess Tsang, percussion) for an upcoming recording project.
